Below is a list of questions I’m often asked. If yours isn’t answered here, I’m just a phone call or email away.
- Why do you suggest that brides and grooms see one another before the wedding?
Ah, the First Sight! That’s actually a fairly simple answer that requires a bit of background info. Thankfully, I’ve written all about it! - What should I wear for a my session?
Great question! I have a few suggestions. Now, go raid that closet! - What kind of equipment do you use?
I use all professional-grade Canon camera bodies and lenses, as well as professional lighting equipment, and I always bring backups! If I had to choose only one camera body and lens to use for the rest of my days, right now it would be the Canon 5DMkII and 35mm f/1.4L, but I reserve the right to change that at any time (or after any new equipment purchase!). - Where are you located?
I live in with my husband and noisy cat in a little mid-century modern fixer-upper in the San Francisco Bay Area — East Bay, to be more precise. - Do you travel? What are your travel rates?
Yes, yes, absolutely yes! If your nuptials are somewhere near San Francisco, chances are you’ll be within my “travel included” range. However, for destinations 75 miles or more from my East Bay home, my modest travel rates will apply. I try to keep costs reasonable — merely gas and lodging when applicable. I do ask that my couples cover up to two night’s stay at a hotel near to the festivities if I’m to drive home late at night. Think of it as purchasing protection for your photos by reducing the chance that I’ll fall asleep at the wheel after 10 hours on my feet! ;) For destination weddings, my flight and a cheap hotel are all I ask! - When do you schedule portrait sessions?
I accept portrait sessions Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays either just after sunrise or two hours before sunset — around 8 a.m. or 4 p.m. (earlier in winter; later in summer). Tuesdays and Thursdays will reopen for booking in summer 2012. Call for availability or if you have questions. - Can I please book a portrait session on a Saturday or Sunday? Those are the only days I have off.
What a coincidence! Me, too! ;) Well, assuming I don’t have a wedding or two to shoot. All sarcasm aside, I work nearly every day and covet the few free weekends I have to spend at home with my Honey. But! I do book up to a year and a half out and shoot later in the evening during the summer months, so I’m sure we can find some weekday that will fit both of our schedules. - How do I book a session?
Head on over to the contact section and send me a note or give me a call! I will send you back a super friendly email filled with too many exclamation points and smiley faces and we’ll work out all the details. - What forms of payment do you accept?
Personal checks are preferred, but I also I accept cash and credit cards. Credit cards will incur an extra 3% charge to cover processing fees, thank you PayPal.
