Erin + Brandon | Engaged

Brutal honesty coming at you: Brandon is far and away the sassiest man I have EVER photographed. Like, ever. Cheekiness just bubbles out of this guy and it is totally unstoppable. Luckily for me, I have a pretty deep sass well of my own, so I held my ground. ;) But it makes perfect sense to me that he’s chosen to marry Erin, because while she is a little spitfire in her own right, she also does an expert job at mellowing him out. This turned out to be a very helpful quality, because between the two of us, we were able to force him into just enough cooperation to get some really beautiful images of their relationship.

Oh, Brandon. You know I’m just messing with you. ;)

Truly though, Erin + Brandon’s relationship has two very distinct sides: sweet love (aaawe) and boundless silliness (double aawe). We’ll start with some of the sweet:Check out those yummy sun rays:And then we’ll let a little silliness sneak in. Favorite #1:Orange is one of their wedding colors, so I thought this blanket was an apt addition to their session:Erin, you could not be more beautiful, so… don’t even bother trying. :)A touch more silliness. Check out her foot on top of his. I’m not sure I can verbalize exactly why, but this is SO them. Her adorable sun hat is just a total bonus. :DSide story time: So, beneath all of Brandon’s sauciness there lies a very generous man. He actually volunteers as the Safety Manager, Conductor Engineer (as Brandon has just informed me!) and all-around Handyman for a miniature railroad for kids and families at a local park. Being that it’s somewhat unusual, I asked him how he got into that job. He told me that when he was growing up the railroad brought him great joy, but only because there were enough adult volunteers to run it. He felt there was nothing better he could do than lend his own hand so kids today could experience that same pleasure, and perhaps one day be inspired to give back to the community in the same way. There’s a heart of gold in there, I tell ya! :D Accordingly, we took some shots around the tracks!Love this one, and it was a special request! Favorite #2:

Ugh, so cute. Erin, your freckles are my favorite. :)

I wish to present you with visual proof of Brandon’s sass—that look on his face! (And honestly, this is  THE tamest example I could have chosen—you’re welcome, Brandon!)Behold, their sweet side:And their fun side:And maybe a little bit of my own fun side. ;) Favorite #3:Last but not least, a portrait with the 100-plus-year-old steam engine itself. Chooo choooo! Favorite #4:

Erin + Brandon, I’m so grateful that Christy sent you my way. I have a pretty good feeling that your wedding is going to be one heck of a party, and I look forward to being a part of it. I hope you see your relationship in these photos as clearly as I do, because I think they scream who you are together. Enjoy them! :D
