Baby Carter | New Haven, CT | Family

The Photo Party I mentioned in my previous post was headed up by none other than the insanely motivated Christa (whose very fit self you’ll most definitely remember from this session).  Christa and I worked together to plan the event, but somehow neither of us realized that the particular Sunday we selected was over Memorial Day weekend.  When you added the A+ perfect weather we were lucky enough to have, you can imagine that the seaside public park we met at got pretty dang busy pretty dang quickly.  (There were already people barbecuing when I arrived at 8:30 in the morning!)

By 10:00, when it was baby Carter’s turn, there was hardly an empty space to sit, let alone one in which to photograph a baby without a myriad of bathing suit-clad public in the background.  I just considered it a challenge. :)

So, meet Carter, who, as clearly evidenced from this first photo, was not quite sure how he felt about me and my camera.

But after a little time, you could say he warmed up to me. :)

We tried to get Carter to play on the antique carousel at the park, but he was not having it.  Every time we brought him near a horse, the poor boy burst into tears.  Carter’s beautiful momma, Ann (who actually got married in the Carousel Pavilion just a few years ago) helped Carter get a little more comfortable, but this is as close as we got.  The light in the carousel building is so amazingly soft and gorgeous — the whole thing is windows.  It is now my new goal to book a daytime wedding here.  I hear it’s affordable!  Any takers? ;)

Thank you Ann and Carter for spending time with me on a beautiful Sunday morning.  I hope you love these photos!

Tune in tomorrow for the biggest baby cheeks you’ve ever seen!  Guaranteed to make you smile! :)
