Lauren + Björn | Engaged

I had an absolutely, downright, completely, 100-percent awful day yesterday. I’m actually running late in my blogging schedule, too. And I realize this sounds like a total cop out, but I think I’m late posting Lauren + Björn’s photos for a reason. Because this session has so much love and joy in it that as I was collecting and perfecting my favorite shots for this blog, I couldn’t stop smiling—an emotional buoy to which I desperately clung this morning.

I always show my husband, Glen, my blog photos before I post them; it’s just one of my habits. When I was looking over Lauren + Björn’s with him, I was having such a hard time putting their relationship into words. They just love each other. And it’s such a pure, wholesome and sweet connection that love is the only word to do it justice. Lauren is an interior designer and gentle soul wrapped in a beautiful smile (and, hello, an amazing haircut!), and Björn (who is from Germany—mein Mutterland!) is a happy-go-lucky, enthusiastic architect. We bonded over modern home design, and I fell head over heels for how head over heels they are for each other. :)

So, Lauren + Björn, sorry for being a couple of days late, but thank you, really and truly, for loving each other so honestly and sincerely, because your relationship set a little fire in my heart exactly when I could use it most. In fact, I’m only going to label one favorite image because they’re actually ALL favorites, but it would dilute the importance of the concept if I said it before each one, right? Just know I’m thinking it. ;)

Ready to smile? Of course you are! :D

One note about this photo: The Ferry Building was unusually empty that afternoon. I give L+B big points for standing stock still in this position while we waited for some good pedestrian traffic. Worth it. :)

You’re beginning to see why I like them so much, right?

UGH. LOVE.

Seriously, Björn, could you love her any more? Because I think not. :D

Lauren, I want to steal your haircut. And also your smile, but that’s a little weird so we’ll pretend I didn’t say that out loud. ;)

Do me a favor and print this and frame it, deal? Deal.

We got to the Presidio riiiiiiiight as the sun was setting. I may or may not have made them run (RUUUUUUN!) into this grove of trees. ;)

Okay, so I totally love this photo—like, want to wrap it up in a tortilla, smother it in guacamole and eat it. But it was UNGODLY WINDY AND FREEZING when I took it. So… I guess first I would put that tortilla in the microwave. FAVORITE:

Yeaaaaah. You guys are my favorites. Your happiness is contagious. :D

And finally: Big ol’ canvas, please! :D

Guys, I am so excited for your wedding, mostly because I think you’re a perfect pair and I await with great sincerity the honor of seeing you become husband and wife. You are such fun to be around and I thank you for bringing a little ray of sunshine into the world. And, uh… sorry for making you stand in the freezing wind! It was worth it though, yeah? ;) Your wedding is going to be a blast, friends. I can’t wait. :D Enjoy your photos!
