Erin + Brian | Married at The Garden Court Hotel

I may try to hide it sometimes, but the truth is, I’m a big softie. Give me happiness, give me love, give me kindness and sunshine and I am satisfied. Erin + Brian are all of these things, and their wedding was a perfect celebration of that fact. You’ll recall their engagement session made me cry. Needless to say, I was a blubbering fool for their ceremony. Seriously. Big softie. :)

This was my first time at The Garden Court Hotel in Palo Alto—and what a lovely venue it was! Just wait until you see the carpet in the rooms. :D

Laurel from Esla Events put together this beautiful wedding. She is far and away the best wedding planner I have ever come across (and I can say this from personal experience—she planned my own wedding!). I love her attention to detail and her focus on what’s most important to her clients. I could rave about her alllll day. :)

By the time I got to Erin, she was way ahead of schedule with her hair and makeup  (and a surprise trip home and back!) completed. She was radiant with excitement. :)

Meanwhile, over in the men’s suite… Thanks to the best second shooter on earth, Nicole, for these! By the way, Brian dropped something like 35 pounds since I saw them for their engagement session. He deserves huge high fives for his effort—so proud of him!

Remember the carpet? :D

Pssst. That’s Brian’s son on the left. :)

Erin’s final touch was a head wreath made by my most favorite florist of all time (who also did my own wedding!), Leigh of Leigh Okies Designs. It was perfection, and I love the joy on Erin’s face as she put it on. Favorite! :)

I admit it. I am 100% jealous of Erin’s haircut. I so wish I could pull that off! And isn’t her grecian-inspired dress lovely?

Brian waits patiently for his first sight. :D

Love. Favorite.

I’m pretty sure the first thing I look for at any venue is a shiny surface. Found it in the lobby! :D

And here we go!

Let’s talk about how great this ribbon backdrop Laurel created is. I’ll go first: So good. :D

Erin waiting with her dad before they walked down the aisle. Favorite.

Their ceremony was joyous and heartfelt. There was hardly a dry eye in the house. :)

But there was also a lot of laughter, which is my favorite! Oh how I adore genuine smiles. :D

And then I turned around and saw this. That’s Erin’s totally and completely adorable mom, by the way! :D :D :D

Love this etherial shot Nicole grabbed during a reading.

Favorite, favorite, FAVORITE. So perfect.

MARRIED! :D

The reception room at The Garden Court Hotel is so light and bright, and Laurel’s sweet table designs with Leigh’s mediterranean florals were just lovely.

Guys, love is great. So very great. Favorite by Nicole.

That’s their one-year-old granddaughter, Skylar! She was such a trooper and stayed up all day.

Then we snuck outside for some portraits. Do you spy the tiny olives in the bouquet? :D

Love the dress blowing in the wind!

Seriously? They are both SO CUTE.

Ending it with my most favorite image of the day. :D

Erin + Brian, the universe did something so wonderfully right in putting you two together. Thank you for showing me the importance and beauty of respect, love and kindness. I am so very grateful to have witnessed your marriage, and no two people deserve such happiness as you do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for asking me to photograph your wedding. I cherish the time I spent with you and I hope you love these photos. Here’s to many more years of happiness. :D xo, M
